About The Position

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on, and motivated Junior Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Thanksgiving Point Facilities Team! Thanksgiving Point is one of Utah’s most unique and exciting places to work, where no two days are the same. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, learning new skills, and building experience in facilities maintenance and skilled trades. In this role, you will assist with repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, installations, and renovation projects throughout the property. You will work alongside experienced Facilities team members to help maintain buildings, equipment, and infrastructure while developing skills in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general construction, and building maintenance. The ideal candidate has some hands-on maintenance, construction, mechanical, or trade experience and is eager to continue learning. Trade school, an apprenticeship, technical training, or experience using hand and power tools is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Requirements

Some hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, mechanical work, facilities, landscaping, automotive, or another skilled trade preferred.
At least 1 year of experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools preferred; demonstrated ability and willingness to learn may be considered in place of formal experience.
Exposure to or interest in learning multiple trades, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, drywall, or general construction.
Trade school, apprenticeship, technical training, certifications, or relevant coursework is a plus.
Ability to learn new skills, follow instructions, and safely perform assigned work.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask questions and seek assistance when needed.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while also working effectively as part of a team.
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to identify and communicate needed parts, materials, and supplies.
Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Maintains a clean, professional appearance and demonstrates respectful and professional conduct with coworkers, internal customers, vendors, and guests.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must successfully pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Responsibilities

Assist with routine repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of equipment and building systems.
Learn and apply safe maintenance practices while following company policies, procedures, and OSHA safety requirements.
Work alongside experienced Facilities team members to complete maintenance, repair, installation, and renovation projects.
Safely use a variety of hand tools and power tools and continue developing proficiency with maintenance equipment.
Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and other general building maintenance tasks.
Identify maintenance concerns and communicate issues, needed repairs, or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
Complete assigned work orders and document work performed using the computerized maintenance management/work order system on a mobile device.
Assist with identifying and sourcing appropriate parts, supplies, and materials needed to complete maintenance projects.
Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
Assist with setup and teardown for large private and public events, including projects requiring lifting, tools, or equipment.
Provide friendly, professional, and responsive service to coworkers, internal customers, vendors, and guests.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, take direction, ask questions, and accept feedback.
