Visionist is seeking Junior Systems Engineers to join their team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC, to enhance global ship tracking systems. The role involves leveraging state-of-the-art analytics, multi-INT fusion, and cutting-edge technologies to detect and disrupt illicit activities at sea. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering
  • Background in systems engineering for satellite, communications, or Multi-INT systems
  • Experience in system design, integration, and performance evaluation
  • Strong skills in concept development, mission planning, and systems analysis
  • Proven ability to develop and flow down system requirements across subsystems
  • Broad technical knowledge to ensure compatibility across system components
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving innovative R&D initiatives
  • U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible).
  • Applicants selected will be required to obtain / maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support system development, integration, and evaluation of satellite and communications systems, with a focus on Multi-INT data fusion
  • Assess and demonstrate new system concepts and their effectiveness in meeting mission goals
  • Plan, organize, and execute advanced system planning for assigned missions or programs
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of current and future capabilities; define requirements and drive changes to meet long-term objectives
  • Generate and recommend innovative concepts and technical approaches that deliver operational impact or breakthroughs
  • Define system-level and subsystem-level requirements, ensuring overall system integrity and compatibility
  • Provide leadership and direction for advanced R&D efforts to achieve next-gen capabilities
