About The Position

The company is seeking a Junior Systems Member of Technical Staff (MTS), Spacecraft Electrical to support system-level engineering activities for earth observation and remote sensing satellite programs. This role involves contributing to the specification, analysis, integration, and verification of spacecraft electrical systems, including power, communications/RF, payload electrical interfaces, and EMC/EMI. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the position offers an opportunity to gain system-level engineering experience while contributing to mission delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with spacecraft electrical systems including power systems, communications/RF systems, and payload electronics
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools such as Matlab, Python, or similar
  • Experience using MS Excel for engineering analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment under guidance from experienced engineers
  • Must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level
  • Must pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to RF systems, radar systems, or antenna concepts is an asset
  • Familiarity with lab/test equipment such as oscilloscopes or spectrum analyzers is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of electrical requirements from mission level down to subsystem level (bus, payload, ground segment, launch, etc.)
  • Assisting with mission analyses including power budgets, link budgets, and EMC/EMI analyses
  • Supporting development and maintenance of interface control documents (ICDs) across mission segments
  • Contributing to verification planning including development of test matrices and requirements
  • Reviewing subcontractor design documentation for compliance to requirements with guidance from senior engineers
  • Assisting in development of Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) procedures and supporting execution activities
  • Participating in test campaigns including data review, anomaly tracking, and troubleshooting support
  • Participating in spacecraft validation, commissioning, and early operations activities
  • Supporting engineering documentation, planning, and cost estimation activities
