About The Position

CACI is looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to support a key program based in Chesapeake, VA as part of our Enterprise Solutions & Services team. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with initiative and the aptitude to learn quickly and apply new skills to technical and procedural challenges. The ability to be adaptable, troubleshoot effectively, and work constructively with a technically diverse team is important. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong foundation in systems administration and infrastructure operations while developing broader technical skills over time. You will join the program's Platform team supporting the servers, cloud infrastructure, security/compliance activities, and enterprise services used by multiple mission-facing applications.

Requirements

  • Meet applicable DoD 8140 requirements through a qualifying technical degree, Security+ CE or other approved certification, or another accepted qualification pathway.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience with Windows Server administration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Basic scripting experience using PowerShell or similar scripting tools
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including DNS, IP addressing, ports/protocols, routing, SSL/TLS, and load balancing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow documented technical procedures and appropriately escalate complex issues
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other cloud services
  • Familiarity to Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform
  • Exposure to SharePoint Server or Microsoft SQL Server administration
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation, STIGs, or other DoD security/compliance activities
  • Experience working with or around DoD networks
  • Experience supporting the U.S. Navy or Navy Reserve Forces Command

Responsibilities

  • Support routine infrastructure operations including Windows Server patching, maintenance, and verification
  • Support IT asset inventory, administrative recordkeeping, and other recurring infrastructure support activities
  • Process certificate requests and renewals and assist with certificate installation
  • Execute STIG and other security/compliance scanning tools and support remediation of known findings
  • Create and maintain Active Directory service accounts, groups, and group-managed service accounts
  • Install, configure, and verify standard monitoring and systems-management agents
  • Execute scheduled database refresh procedures and other documented operational tasks
  • Assist with server build-out, application installation, and infrastructure configuration
  • Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution for routine infrastructure issues
  • Support monitoring, maintenance, and operational activities across Windows and cloud environments
  • Use and modify PowerShell or other scripts to support repeatable operational processes
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and internal wiki content
