Under the direction of the Assistant Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director, this role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the swim team and all its functions, including practices, meets, pep rallies, and meet sheet preparation. The primary focus will be assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Development program. This includes supervising young swimmers, conducting regular practices, organizing the team for swim meets, and ensuring swimmers are prepared to swim. The coach must attend all practices, meets, pep rallies, and other swim team functions, informing their supervisor of any conflicts. They will also attend Meet the Coaches night, organize swimmers at meets, and ensure communication between coaches, swimmers, and parents. Upholding the team's philosophy and motivating young swimmers are key aspects of this role. The coach will participate in opening swim team meetings, developing skit themes, producing weekly skits, decorating houses for championships, and contributing daily ideas and spirit. Enthusiasm and fun are expected when working with the youngest group on the team. Responsibilities also include keeping records on each swimmer, updating record boards, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of facilities, and ensuring the pool is set up and broken down for practices and meets. The coach must abide by the current Bylaws of the CCSDA, Bylaws and Rules & Customs of WGCC. Additionally, the role involves teaching private lessons to swim team members, especially developmental swimmers, and performing other assigned duties.
