About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team is seeking a Junior Sustainment Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to support a Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. This role involves Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for Military Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems. The engineer will provide test & evaluation planning, execution, and assessment, along with terminal operations for strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems and NC3 capabilities. The position requires tackling technical challenges, driving solutions for legacy and transitioning space-based telecommunication capabilities, and conducting T&E using established government processes for independent verification and validation of system modifications. The work will be performed in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment. This is an opportunity to join a high-functioning team impacting Joint and Allied combat readiness.

Requirements

  • Able to obtain/maintain a DoW SECRET or higher security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar technical discipline from an accredited 4-year university.
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years leadership experience with DoW/USAF/USSF test processes and documentation.
  • Familiarity working with DoW clients (military and civilian) and managing professional relationships.
  • Experience in Developmental Test (DT) supporting a DoW Lead Developmental Test Organization (LDTO) or other test organization.
  • Experience in Operational Test (OT) supporting a DoW Operational Test Agency (OTA) or other test organization.
  • Experience operating or maintaining the following: FAB-T, MMS, Global-ASNT, GBS, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M, KG-250), and/or related infrastructure/support equipment.
  • Experience with the space domain, specifically with Narrowband, Wideband, and/or Protected SATCOM.
  • Knowledge of DoW mission system sustainment processes.
  • Possess International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Global Aircrew Strategic Network-Terminal (Global-ASNT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre-Processor (TDSPP), MILSATCOM Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), and various other MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, subsystems and devices.
  • Provide engineering and technician-level support, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, system-level anomaly resolution, and identification and isolation of software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues.
  • Provide technical assessments to the client with regards to system modifications.
  • Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports.
