About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position will have a profound impact on protecting national security. KBR is seeking a motivated, entry-level Junior Sustainment Test Engineer to join the team in Colorado Springs, CO. The MSEIT effort provides leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the United States Space Force’s (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). They acquire state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for the nation’s warfighters. The role involves working in a highly collaborative environment with small teams, using modern tools and methodologies to integrate complex space and ground communications systems. The MSEIT Sustainment IPT is located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB) and directly supports the Joint and Allied operational warfighting community, employing MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals, and software applications worldwide.

Requirements

  • Ability to attain and maintain a SECRET clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar technical discipline
  • Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
  • Possess a SECRET clearance

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, coordinate, execute testing and provide terminal operations support on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS), Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre-Processor (TDSPP), Milstar Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT), various other systems, subsystems and MILSATCOM devices
  • Provide technician-level support for each of the above systems, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, and system-level anomaly resolution
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications
  • Author, peer-review, and deliver technical documentation including test plans, detailed test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports
