About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team is seeking a motivated, entry-level Junior Sustainment Test Engineer to join their team in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is part of the MSEIT effort, which provides Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the United States Space Force’s (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). The team acquires satellite communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, ensuring global secure, survivable, and protected communications for the nation's warfighters. The position is within a highly collaborative work environment that utilizes modern tools and methodologies to integrate complex space and ground communications systems. The engineer will directly support the Joint and Allied operational warfighting community using MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals, and software applications worldwide.

Requirements

  • Ability to attain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written, verbal communications, and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP).
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment.
  • Possess a SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing for various systems including Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS), Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre-Processor (TDSPP), Milstar Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT), and other MILSATCOM devices.
  • Provide terminal operations support for the aforementioned systems.
  • Offer technician-level support for each system, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, and system-level anomaly resolution.
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues.
  • Provide technical assessments to the client regarding system modifications.
  • Author, peer-review, and deliver technical documentation such as test plans, detailed test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports.
