About The Position

The Structural Buildings Team is currently looking for a Junior Structural Engineer to support the growth of the office and the team based out of Halifax. Your role will involve actively participating in the design and preparation of plans and specifications (steel, concrete, wood, masonry, etc.). You will also conduct studies, surveys, technical reports, and structural inspections. Additionally, you will provide contract administration services during the construction phase, including oversight of structural work execution. It is important to ensure that the engineering work is produced according to the quality standards of the industry and respects the National Building Code and Ontario Building Code. You will coordinate projects that impact your structural design with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, architecture, process, etc.) and maintain and develop client and stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 0-2 years related experience in a structural engineering firm or construction
  • Experience with structural design software (STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Holds a valid Class 5 driving license.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to obtain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Reliability Status clearance upon hiring with an expectation to obtain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Secret clearance upon hiring.
