About The Position

The Jr. Staff Accountant will play a critical role in strengthening the financial foundation of YCENA, ensuring disciplined execution, transparency, and governance across all accounting and financial operations. This role goes beyond traditional accounting assignments. The Jr. Staff Accountant will participate in building, enforcing, and sustaining a best-in-class financial control environment. Primarily attending to the accurate and complete processing of supplier and vendor payments, this role will also support month end responsibilities to ensure a complete, transparent and true accounting of YCENA financial performance aligned with our One Yanmar philosophy.

Requirements

  • Two-year Accounting or similar degree preferred OR equivalent work experience
  • Two years progressive accounting experience
  • Strong financial judgment — not just reporting, but decision-making
  • Ability to challenge the business constructively
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and change
  • Proven ability to identify issues others missed
  • Strong backbone willing to push back when needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or assembly environment
  • ERP experience (Epicor strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all supplier and vendor payments are accurate and timely processed, aligned with company delegation of authority (DOA)
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve legacy gaps in accounting practices and process gaps
  • Ensure full compliance with US GAAP and Yanmar global standards
  • Act as a guardian of financial integrity and transparency
  • Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial assignments including, but not limited to Supplier and vendor payment activity, Month end close processing and reporting requirements, Cash activity and reconciliations
  • Actively support all internal and external audits with a proactive, no-surprises approach
  • Ensure readiness and documentation standards meet audit expectations at all times
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Support ERP optimization (Epicor/YDS alignment where relevant)
  • Drive standardization aligned with One Yanmar operating model
