About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer II in our Herndon, VA location to support a large software development classified program developing, operating, and maintaining mission critical enterprise capabilities. The program includes development and support for existing mission systems in parallel with effort to develop and deliver modernized cloud native, microservice-based products. The team applies Agile methodology, DevOps principles, and behavior and test-driven development practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to the position with 2+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree in an area relevant to the position; an additional 4 years of relevant experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph
Strong foundational knowledge working with Java OOP development.
Willingness to learn and become an effective team member.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Full-time work in a SCIF

Nice To Haves

An already active TS/SCI security clearance.
Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering life-cycle.
Previous hands-on experience through coursework or internships.
Previous hands-on coding experience with Python, React, Javascript, Postgres, & SQL.

Responsibilities

Candidate will apply agile development processes to implement features as defined by user stories, 3-week Sprints/3 Month Spins.
Development using Java full stack.
Develop/maintain platform related applications and libraries.
Develop/maintain existing applications as requirements are requested and when updates are required.
Candidate will resolve database issues and in creating new features/functionality for existing database.
