At PMAT, we work on mission critical systems that directly support the warfighter, designing, building, and securing modern digital capabilities across cloud, data, and software environments. Our teams tackle complex, real-world challenges where delivery matters more than theory, and innovation is driven by curiosity, collaboration, and purpose. In this role, you’ll contribute to the Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS), working alongside experienced engineers to support software sustainment, troubleshoot operational issues, and deliver reliable software capabilities in support of the U.S. Navy. The Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) is the key integration and control element of the SSDS ICS for Carriers and Amphibious ships. The Command & Control elements of Navy combat systems are open architecture, software-intensive systems that integrate the available sensors, weapons, and networks on each platform and across a netted force, managing detect-through-engagement capability for Air, Surface, Undersea, Strike, and Command and Control Warfare, including Naval Self-Defense, and support secondary mission areas, such as Mobility, Amphibious Warfare, and Fleet Support Operations (e.g., Search and Rescue). PMAT is seeking a full-time entry-level Software Engineer to be a key contributor in maintaining legacy combat readiness and producing world-class software. The successful candidate is impact-focused, is passionate about learning company- and customer-driven guidelines and applying those within development processes, and will have experience and/or knowledge of software engineering principles and software development.
