About The Position

Build technology that supports meaningful financial work. Henssler Financial, an SEC-registered investment adviser based in Kennesaw, Georgia, is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will help develop, maintain, and enhance the internal applications, client-facing tools, and system integrations that support our financial planning, investment management, and family office services. This is an opportunity for an early-career developer to strengthen technical skills while working with an experienced technical lead and collaborating with business partners across the firm. Production changes follow a structured review, testing, and approval process, and business owners approve financial calculations and workflow requirements.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • One to two years of professional software development experience.
  • Familiarity with one or more modern programming languages, such as Python, TypeScript/React, or Rust.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and version control systems such as Git.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and validating AI-generated code.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • The ability to pass a background check consistent with the requirements of an SEC-registered investment adviser.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial services, wealth management, RIA, or broker-dealer experience.
  • Familiarity with .NET/C#, ASP.NET, or similar web application frameworks.
  • Exposure to API development and system integrations, including FastAPI or OpenAPI.
  • Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Understanding of data security and confidentiality practices for nonpublic client information.
  • Comfort working in short development cycles and adjusting based on feedback.
  • Familiarity with pull requests, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain internal software applications and integrations that support Planning & Implementation, Family Office, and other business units.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code that follows established coding standards.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues and support tickets in a timely manner.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Support data integrations across portfolio management, CRM, financial planning, and custodial platforms.
  • Assist with database design, schemas, queries, reporting, and technical documentation.
  • Stay current on relevant frameworks, security practices, and tools used in financial services technology.
