This role is for a Junior Software Developer who will design, develop, and test financial applications, creating small features independently and contributing to medium-sized features with support. The role involves collaborating with the team to determine solutions for end-users' needs, applying common design and architectural patterns, and developing tests to ensure code correctness. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with web development, databases, and programming
Understanding of computer science fundamentals and object-oriented design principles
Familiarity with C# or other C-like programming languages
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Understanding of database concepts and SQL basics
Basic knowledge of software security fundamentals
Knowledge of source control software (e.g., GIT)

Nice To Haves

Experience gained in co-op programs or summer placements beneficial

Responsibilities

Write clean and efficient code and practice the software development lifecycle with supervision.
Determine possible solutions to end users' needs with assistance from colleagues.
Work with end user requirements, designing and developing code to create solutions.
Apply common design and architectural patterns with direction from the team.
Write adequate tests to ensure the correctness of code.
Learn at least one technical area (e.g., web application development, database design, API integration).
Continuously improve technical skills and stay updated on emerging technologies.
Use AI-assisted development tools to write, debug, refactor, and test code.
Maintain an experimental mindset, trying AI-assisted approaches and comparing against writing by hand.
Share learnings on AI-assisted workflows and ask questions when results are unclear.
Responsible for the development and testing of their own code.
Participate in the code review process for learning and improving code quality.
Collaborate with the Development team and receive support and supervision as needed.
Produce content for documents, guides, and manuals for internal applications, development processes, and operating processes.
Receive mentorship from senior team members.
Understand and participate in a respectful team culture.
Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of the role.
