About The Position

This is an early-career role ideal for recent graduates or professionals with foundational experience in data engineering, cybersecurity, analytics, information systems, or related technical areas. You will support the ingestion, validation, transformation, and documentation of cybersecurity telemetry and enterprise log data used for security monitoring, analytics, reporting, and incident response. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to understand source data, validate data quality, document requirements, and support the delivery of reliable security data for downstream cyber analytics and detection use cases. The team you will be joining is part of Cyber Data & Analytics, a function that is vital to the company as it enables cybersecurity teams to make faster, data-driven decisions and strengthen the firm’s ability to detect, investigate, and respond to evolving cyber threats. High-quality cybersecurity data is foundational to effective threat detection, incident response, risk reporting, observability, automation, and analytics. This role helps ensure that enterprise security telemetry is accurate, complete, searchable, and fit for purposes across cybersecurity platforms and data environments.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn security data engineering concepts.
  • Foundational understanding of data engineering, data analytics, cybersecurity, information systems, or cloud computing concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, validation, data quality, and data documentation practices.
  • Ability to use query languages or scripting concepts to analyze, validate, and troubleshoot data.
  • Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 1+ years of professional experience, internship experience, academic project experience, or hands-on lab experience in data engineering, cybersecurity, cloud, analytics, software engineering, information systems, or IT operations.
  • Foundational experience with querying, scripting, data analysis, data validation, or data transformation concepts.
  • Understanding structured, semi-structured and unstructured data formats, including event data, log data, metadata, fields, schemas, and timestamps.
  • Strong interest in building a career in cybersecurity data engineering, security telemetry, data quality, and cyber analytics.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to data pipelines, data integration, ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing, data lakes, data quality, or analytics platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity concepts, security monitoring, log analysis, incident response, or security operations is preferred.
  • Entry-level certifications or training in cybersecurity, cloud, data analytics, or data engineering are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding and validation of cybersecurity telemetry from enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud services, endpoints, identity systems, networks, and security platforms.
  • Assist with analyzing source data structures, log formats, field availability, timestamp patterns, and metadata requirements.
  • Support data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, routing, and validation activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Help validate data quality across raw, enriched, curated, and analytics-ready data layers.
  • Perform basic data checks for completeness, accuracy, freshness, schema consistency, duplicate records, timestamps, and field-level quality.
  • Use query languages and analytical techniques to search, validate, compare, and troubleshoot security telemetry.
  • Assist with identifying data gaps, missing fields, parsing issues, incorrect timestamps, routing issues, and inconsistencies between source and destination data.
  • Support documentation of data source requirements, field mappings, data flow diagrams, transformation logic, validation results, and operational runbooks.
  • Work with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, application, and data engineering teams to understand data requirements and support issue resolution.
  • Participate in operational support activities such as ticket updates, issue tracking, testing, validation evidence, handoffs, and root cause documentation.
  • Support second-line troubleshooting for data engineering jobs, pipelines, and data delivery issues impacting cyber data platforms, under the guidance of senior engineers.
