Requirements

  • Experience in job hazard, risk assessment and other analytical techniques sufficient to identify and evaluate program areas involving high risk, new or revised operations, hazardous materials, and other adverse conditions.
  • Experience in accident and mishap investigation and reporting requirements and techniques.
  • Experience in construction standards, practices, techniques, materials, equipment, and utility systems sufficient to determine compliance with building safety standards, and ability to develop effective controls of work and equipment hazards resulting from new construction or modification of current facilities.
  • Experience in the basic concepts, methods, and techniques used by environmentalist, industrial hygienists, safety engineers, fire prevention specialists, and personnel in other safety and occupational health specialty areas.
  • Experience in the standards, methods, practices, and techniques applicable to industrial processes and operations.
  • Experience applying environmental principles, practices, procedures and laws pertinent to hazardous chemicals and toxic waste.
  • Skill in oral and written communications to prepare, present, explain and defend technical reports, briefings or technical material.
  • 2 years of experience required
  • Must have a SECRET level clearance or higher

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate construction standards, practices, techniques, materials, equipment, and utility systems to determine compliance with building safety standards.

  • Apply basic concepts, methods, and techniques used by environmentalists, industrial hygienists, safety engineers, fire prevention specialists, and personnel in other safety and occupational health specialty areas.
  • Apply standards, methods, practices, and techniques applicable to industrial processes and operations.
  • Apply environmental principles, practices, procedures, and laws pertinent to hazardous chemicals and toxic waste.
  • Prepare, present, explain, and defend technical reports, briefings, or technical material.
  • Provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written.
  • Interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment.
