About The Position

ARES is seeking a Junior Radar Technician to support Mobile Radar operations, maintenance, deployment, and mission support activities. The selected candidate will assist with operation and maintenance of radar systems supporting launch and tracking operations at Wallops and remote mission sites.

Requirements

Two years of technical education or equivalent military technical training.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting mobile radar systems preferred.
Knowledge of digital, analog, and RF electronic fundamentals.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems to the component level.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding field activities.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Valid U.S. passport may be required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the year.

Responsibilities

Support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile radar systems and associated RF equipment.
Assist with radar site setup and teardown operations at remote mission locations.
Troubleshoot analog, digital, and RF electronic systems to the component level.
Interpret electrical diagrams, functional block diagrams, and schematics.
Utilize electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, power meters, and signal generators.
Maintain operational logs and preventative maintenance schedules.
Support mission operations under supervision of senior radar technicians.
Follow company and NASA operational, safety, and quality procedures.
Support physical installation and maintenance activities including climbing ladders and towers and working in confined spaces.
