About The Position

A Junior Property Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of a commercial real estate portfolio, assisting with accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. In this role, you will assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for properties, process accounts payable and receivable related to property operations, and reconcile bank accounts and property-level balance sheet accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. You will also maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and supporting month-end close activities, review invoice coding, approvals, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to posting, and partner with Property Managers, tenants, and vendors to address accounting inquiries and resolve financial issues. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies, and communicate with property managers, tenants, and vendors regarding financial matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years of progressive property accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry.
  • Proficiency with Yardi, AvidXchange, or similar property management and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities
