Welsbach Electric Corp. - Junior Project Engineer
About The Position
The Junior Project Engineer will assist in the engineering and coordination of electrical work. The position entails drafting and coordination of the electrical installation work, in accordance with the contract documents, with other members of the overall Project Team, translating contract drawings into 2D and 3D installation drawings, providing management of clash detection, and conflict identification and resolution, incorporating change orders and as-built conditions, and providing involvement in developing project-specific BIM strategies, scope, and planning.
Requirements
- 1 - 5 years related experience in electrical
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry, contract documentation, and the National Electrical Code and
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and
- Experience performing electrical/construction/engineering
- Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel applications .
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering desirable but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Director of Engineering and provide directions in the field regarding technical and quality issues.
- Work with the Systems Manager to facilitate and support the testing work being performed in the Work with the Project Manager and Field Supervision to develop Plans for future Under oversight of the Project Manager, maintain schedules and status
- Assist in developing and implementing project-specific BIM strategies, scope, and plan for the Utilize Revit MEP or AutoCAD MEP to create installation shop drawings and sketches from contract drawings.
- Responsible for layout of electrical systems, including cable trays, conduits and equipment in 3D for BIM coordination.
- Participate in customer, project, and design meetings to gather and review project related requirements and resolve conflicts with other
- Must have a good understanding of: Lighting control, Security systems, Fire Alarm, Power, Block diagram and one line
- Must be able to develop and understand point to point
- Perform basic design calculations (i.e. pulling calculations, duct sizing, etc.) under Engineer direction and review.
- Communicate project status to report target delivery, productivity, and quality of
- Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned
- Travel to various project sites is
- Maintain confidentiality of engineering department and company
- Comply with I.S.O. 9000:2015 operations work instructions, contracts, safety program, and Company established policies and
- Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Director of Engineering or Project Manager with recommendation for
- Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the company or as directed by executives.
