About The Position

The Junior Production Supervisor is a developmental leadership position designed to build the skills and experience necessary to become a successful Production Supervisor within Voltava. This position will work across multiple areas of the operation, including Production Supervision, Materials Coordination, Quality Coordination, and Plant Liaison responsibilities. Through hands-on assignments, training, and coaching from plant leadership, the Junior Production Supervisor will develop a broad understanding of the systems, processes, customer requirements, and leadership skills required to successfully lead in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates leadership potential, initiative, strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a desire to learn and grow into increasing levels of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience preferred; automotive manufacturing or assembly experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest and potential to develop into a leadership position.
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple areas of the business rather than specialize in a single function.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Team Leader, Coordinator, or other informal/formal leadership experience.
  • Experience in production, materials, quality, logistics, or customer support.
  • Experience working directly with an automotive OEM customer.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory, production monitoring, or quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or structured problem-solving.
  • Experience leading a team through a problem or improvement activity.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured development process across Operations, Materials, Quality, and Customer Liaison functions.
  • Learn and perform key Production Supervisor responsibilities, including supporting Team Leaders and Team Members, monitoring production performance, responding to issues, and maintaining safety, quality, delivery, and productivity expectations.
  • Develop leadership skills through coaching Team Members, supporting accountability, communicating expectations, and participating in employee-related situations.
  • Learn production systems and processes necessary to understand customer requirements, production status, sequencing, and delivery performance.
  • Support material coordination activities including inventory monitoring, material shortages, Min/Max systems, cycle counts, expedited material, and material flow.
  • Support quality activities including inspections, audits, containment, customer concerns, corrective actions, and problem-solving.
  • Develop an understanding of customer liaison responsibilities through interaction with the customer, investigation of concerns, containment activities, communication of issues, and follow-up.
  • Participate in problem-solving and root-cause analysis and support the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop the ability to recognize abnormal conditions, establish priorities, escalate concerns appropriately, and respond with a sense of urgency.
  • Build effective working relationships across Operations, Materials, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, IT, and other support functions.
  • Learn and utilize plant systems, reports, ERP tools, Microsoft Office, and other systems necessary to manage the operation.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and process performance.
  • Provide coverage in different plant functions as knowledge and competency are developed.
  • Participate in training, coaching, and periodic development reviews with plant leadership.

  • Maintain flexibility to work different shifts, schedules, and assignments as required for training and plant needs.
  • Perform other duties and developmental assignments as assigned.
