Under limited supervision, supports the development, optimization, and scale-up of new and existing products across multiple delivery formats including solid dose (tablets, capsules, powders), ingestible liquids, and personal care formulations. Conducts laboratory testing, prototype development, and process improvement activities in alignment with established procedures, quality standards, and regulatory expectations. This role requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Understanding of basic chemistry principles (advanced analytical expertise not required).
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply basic math concepts such as ratios and percentages.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform lab tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and 15 lbs frequently.
• Use of hands and sensory abilities including taste and smell when required.
• Visual acuity including near/far vision and color differentiation.

• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and optimization of solid oral dosage forms (tablets, capsules, powders), liquid supplements, and personal care formulations.
• Assist in executing bench-scale trials to evaluate ingredient compatibility, functionality, and stability.
• Assist in troubleshooting efforts for existing and new formulas using critical thinking to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues during production and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare batch records, manufacturing instructions, and support scale-up activities.
• Conduct routine testing of raw materials and finished products and document physical and sensory attributes.
• Maintain a working understanding of basic chemistry principles related to formulation and stability.
• Assist in organizing and monitoring stability studies.
• Support process improvements across blending, granulation, compression, encapsulation, emulsification, and filling.
• Maintain and update formulation records in internal databases (including formula calculations) and support team projects within internal systems.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• Effectively multitask while maintaining organization.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, safety, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab; maintain routine cleaning, organization, and supply ordering.
• Cross-train across different product categories.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
