Requirements

1-4 years experience as a drafter
Proficient in AutoCAD
Diploma or Certificate in drafting or engineering technology from an accredited secondary institution
Must have strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
Communicate effectively with team members to clarify markups, resolve design questions, and support coordination efforts
All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, be a resident, and residing in Calgary or be willing to relocate to Calgary, to be considered for the position.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Plant 3D, and Navisworks is an asset.

Responsibilities

Work under the guidance of senior designers and engineers to develop technical competency in piping design, modeling, and drawing production.
Assist in interpreting and applying P&IDs to develop accurate designs and ensure alignment with process and mechanical requirements.
Generate isometrics, equipment layouts, and simple design drawings in accordance with project specifications and Tri standards.
Apply process data (e.g., line sizes, elevations, pressures, temperatures) to piping designs and revisions.
Support design reviews and collaborate with instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines to resolve clashes and improve layouts.
Assist with incorporating field changes, redlines, and as-built updates into the model and drawings.
Develop an understanding of piping design principles, company standards, and industry practices through mentorship and hands-on project work.
