Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer
About The Position
Radiance Technologies is seeking a talented software engineer to join their Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team. This is a junior developer role where the candidate will work with a diverse team of software engineers and analysts to explore and develop solutions supporting AFRL, NASIC, and other Department of Defense and Intelligence Community projects. The role involves evolving existing Modeling & Simulation frameworks (AFSIM) and its codebase based on customer needs, incorporating scenarios and models into AFSIM, and performing testing and verification. The position utilizes modern Agile software development practices and is looking for innovative, self-starters who can adapt to a fast-paced, high-profile development effort.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Minimum of 1 year C++, C#, Python, or Java development experience
- Minimum of 1 year software development experience
- Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as git, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, Gitlab runners, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing software for Linux platforms
- Experience following agile development processes
- Experience working with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE
- Experience with virtual machine and container management platforms such as WSL2 and Docker
- Experience applying object-oriented design patterns within software applications
- Experience with integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, etc.
- Familiarity with DoD security practices
Responsibilities
- Evolve an existing Modeling & Simulation frameworks (AFSIM) and its codebase based upon customer needs.
- Incorporate scenarios and models into AFSIM.
- Perform testing and verification.
- Work with a diverse team of software engineers and analysts to explore and develop solutions.
- Utilize modern Agile software development practices.
