About The Position
The Junior Mechanic supports the build and assembly of vehicle platforms and sub-systems for MSI's customers. This role is focused on executing standardized assembly tasks in a production environment and is distinct from a Vehicle Assembly Mechanic role-there is minimal troubleshooting or repair work involved. This position works closely with experienced mechanics, engineers, and supervisors to assemble components accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a bias for action and the aptitude required to efficiently prioritize and execute tasks
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and basic technical drawings
- Experience using hand tools and basic mechanical tools
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Proven experience in assembly of vehicle components and vehicle sub-systems
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices; read instructions, and blueprints etc.
- A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
- U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required for the position.
Responsibilities
- Assemble vehicle components and sub-systems according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Install brackets, mounts, panels, and other mechanical components
- Follow step-by-step assembly processes to support vehicle builds
- Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Support team members in vehicle builds and production activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Identify and communicate any issues with parts, fitment, or instructions to supervisors
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
- Be flexible and support different assembly tasks as production needs change
