About The Position

The Junior Marketing Strategist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of industry-specific marketing strategies that build brand awareness, generate leads, and help position Dean Dorton as a thought leader. This role is ideal for a collaborative and creative marketer who enjoys campaign development, content coordination, and cross-functional teamwork. The essential duties & responsibilities of the Junior Marketing Strategist role are outlined below in correlation with Dean Dorton’s performance management impact areas. Technical Definition: your specialized knowledge & expertise associated with the work you perform for/with clients (note: clients may be internal to Dean Dorton). Support and contribute to marketing strategy and execution, requiring a variety of tasks that may include: Assisting in the development of industry-specific marketing strategies in coordination with leadership Supporting integrated marketing plans including digital campaigns, events, content marketing, and sales enablement Helping coordinate and develop content such as case studies, blog posts, and email copy Researching industry trends and competitive activity to inform strategic direction Utilizing analytics tools to track campaign performance and contribute to reporting Behavioral Definition: the behaviors associated with performing your job (interpersonal skills). Demonstrate collaboration, initiative, and communication in all marketing interactions, requiring a variety of behaviors that may include: Building strong working relationships with internal teams, service lines, and business developers Serving as a liaison between marketing and internal departments to ensure alignment Participating in team brainstorming, project coordination, and marketing meetings Communicating clearly, accepting feedback, and maintaining professionalism in fast-paced settings Demonstrating adaptability and accountability in campaign execution Non-Charge Definition: the contribution you make to Dean Dorton outside of client work. Contribute to the growth and innovation of the marketing team beyond day-to-day responsibilities, requiring a variety of efforts that may include: Participating in internal process improvements and team collaboration initiatives Representing the firm at industry events and firm-sponsored programs Supporting cross-training and documentation efforts to improve marketing operations Assisting with internal communications and culture-building efforts when needed This position requires occasional travel to Dean Dorton offices or industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in a marketing support or campaign-focused role
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools and CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
  • Strong writing and content development skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment

  • CMS/design platforms (e.g., WordPress, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite – optional)
