About The Position

The Junior Manufacturing Software Engineer develops, maintains, upgrades, and redevelops software applications and reports used in manufacturing environments, including applications that control or interact with customized fixtures and instruments. The role supports MES implementation, administration, and ongoing operations; paperless workflows; automated data collection; process visualization; and manufacturing quality control. The engineer works with management and cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, and IT teams to create custom applications that reduce downtime, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve productivity. The role also includes creating process metrics, reports, and live dashboards, and providing software, workstation, and network troubleshooting on the production floor. Work is primarily on the production floor (70%), with some time in office or laboratory environments. Approximately 85% of the role supports existing or legacy manufacturing software and 15% supports new MES development; the share of new MES development is expected to increase as the legacy system is phased out.
