About The Position

The successful individual will be required to perform and complete tasks associated with the manufacturing of all machined components. This role involves working in a clean, safe, and organized manner, verifying materials, operating machine shop equipment, and ensuring machined components meet blueprint dimensions. The position also includes participating in finishing and material preparation, meeting goals, and completing inspection reports.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Grade 12 O.S.S.D. or equivalent.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license.
  • Must be willing and able to achieve crane and forklift certification.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Possessing and utilizing own tools for daily tasks (e.g., micrometers, verniers, indicators).
  • Strong mechanical problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work shift work (days and afternoons), overtime, and weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Machining software knowledge, including Lemoine, MasterCam, and Smirt.
  • Knowledge of machining equipment and software including Heidenhain and Fanuc controllers, milling, grinding, and fabrication.
  • Experience in a machine shop.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a clean, safe, and organized manner, as outlined in the Health and Safety Program.
  • Verify and identify materials for size, shape, and type to ensure correctness for the application according to engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Operate and use machine shop equipment for manufacturing machined components, including bridgeports, surface grinders, horizontal lathes, saws, and CNC machinery.
  • Use measuring and checking skills to verify that all machined components are correct to blueprint dimensions.
  • Utilize and respect machine shop equipment.
  • Participate in finishing of details and material preparation.
  • Meet agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
  • Complete inspection reports prior to the job being removed from the machine.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
