About The Position

This position is for CAROLINA ONE MORTGAGE, a member of the Newrez Family of Companies. The Junior Loan Officer will be responsible for selling loan products offered by NewRez, contacting prospective clients to develop and maintain referral sources, and meeting with prospective clients at outside locations such as a client’s home. They will also make in-person calls on real estate agents, financial advisors, and other potential referral sources to develop borrower leads, engage in marketing and promotional activities, and meet monthly minimum personal production goals (3 units). The role involves taking mortgage loan applications, preparing effective loan proposals, determining consumer needs, and offering appropriate products. Origination of loans for appropriate amounts, rates, and terms that comply with NewRez’s program guidelines is also a key responsibility. The Junior Loan Officer will provide consumers with a superior level of customer service, quickly and accurately answer all customer inquiries in a professional manner, and obtain all necessary information to process loan requests in a timely manner. This includes credit reports, income verification, appraisals, lien searches, etc. Analyzing information and providing insight where appropriate, as well as providing assistance to applicants and solving problems that may arise between application and settlement, are also part of the role. Staying informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry and attending/assisting with scheduled meetings, training sessions, and courses are required. Maintaining compliance with all industry-specific federal and state licensed activity requirements and NewRez Code of Conduct is essential.

Requirements

  • Must qualify for and obtain state licensure in the states where NewRez does business; mortgage licensure requires a good credit score, no tax liens and a clean criminal background check
  • Minimum successful 1 year mortgage loan origination experience
  • Proven sales skills and leadership abilities
  • Employees are required to have smart phones that meet Company security standards with the ability to install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator

  • 2-year college degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
