About The Position

The Junior Engineer will investigate, analyze, and deliver technical positions, and recommendation on engineering issues with oversight and direction. They can independently address some tasking, but still require senior level guidance. This role involves applying basic engineering principles to support the review of flutter and dynamics analyses, along with ground and flight test data, to assist in airworthiness evaluations of aircraft. The engineer will assist in identifying and resolving engineering problems by gathering and analyzing data from structural tests, flutter analyses, and simulation outputs, contributing to practical solutions in a team environment. Support will be provided to Program Manager activities by helping track compliance with aircraft requirements, including technical reporting, test data documentation, and quality control efforts. The role also contributes to early-stage (TRL 0–5) projects involving materials, manufacturing processes, and aircraft structural/dynamics considerations, supporting the transition of work to cross-functional teams. Support will be provided during structural ground testing and assistance in documenting results. The engineer will assist with the use and development of flutter and dynamics modeling and simulation tools. Participation as a team member in projects, occasionally supporting coordination efforts, is expected, while continuing to build technical competency. Input will be contributed to engineering studies and evaluations supporting longer-term development. Basic engineering design and analysis documentation will be prepared for review. Support for design for manufacturability efforts will be provided by assisting in evaluating processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce lifecycle cost. Collaboration with engineering teams to support development and optimization of materials and manufacturing processes will occur. Participation in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities and assistance in risk assessments are also part of the role. Finally, support will be provided for collaborative efforts with internal R&D teams and external partners, and accurate and timely updates on assigned tasks will be provided to senior engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or other related Engineering field.
  • Basic understanding of aircraft operations, manufacturing methods, mechanical systems, and materials as applied to aircraft and their components.
  • Foundational knowledge of process qualification, validation, and verification for aircraft components and associated hardware.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to support evaluation of system performance, reliability, and integration considerations within aircraft systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable military specifications and standards relevant to aircraft design, manufacturing, and airworthiness is beneficial.
  • Some experience or exposure to identifying, assessing, and managing technical and programmatic risks within aircraft systems or engineering projects is preferred.
