We are looking for a proactive, hands-on legal professional who takes true ownership, actively manages legal risks, and drives corporate governance excellence across our retail brokerage. In this role, you will shape our day-to-day legal landscape, collaborating with commercial and compliance teams to negotiate business agreements - from NDAs to global commercial partnerships - that drive impact and ensure compliance on a global scale. We work in a hybrid model - we would love to meet you in the office 2 days a week with respect to your own commitments.

Requirements

  • Min. 2 years of hands-on experience with a law firm or as in-house counsel, but impact matters more than years.
  • Strong foundation in corporate governance.
  • Bar membership in good standing, or currently in pursuit of an apprenticeship/qualification towards it.
  • Ability to manage complexity - making sense of high-quantity or contradictory information to solve problems.
  • Planning and organizational skills, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Strategic thinking with a detail-oriented approach to execution, compliance, and proactive risk management.

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience in FinTech, the FX/trading sector, derivatives, payment services, or cryptocurrency from a commercial and legal perspective.
  • Regulatory experience within the global financial services industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day legal matters arising from US and Canadian operations, including matters relating to corporate governance.
  • Advise on and negotiate a wide range of commercial arrangements relating to the North American business.
  • Anticipate, identify and escalate legal issues of concern.
  • Play a supporting role within the Legal Department in connection with all legal matters, including relating to employment, intellectual property, privacy, cybersecurity, compliance-related issues and any and all other legal issues that may arise globally.
  • Support the delivery of strategic projects for the Legal Department.
  • Contribute to team development, scaling, efficiency and improvement.
