About The Position

KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is a leading travel search engine. The company operates a portfolio of global metasearch brands. KAYAK is seeking a Java Software Engineer to implement new features and maintain its platform. The role involves working with data, including parsing, analyzing, investigating, interpreting, modeling, and extracting knowledge from large volumes of data to drive business decisions or develop new features in a fast-paced environment with diverse projects. This role requires working from the Concord, MA office at least 3 days per week.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience with Java programming
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Good communication skills for sharing ideas clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues
• Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL or Oracle
• Familiarity with Unix shell scripting
• Familiarity with Spring & Mybatis frameworks
• Familiarity with DOM and using XPath, JQuery & CSS
• Familiarity with API development using REST, Web Service, SOAP, etc
• Familiarity with Machine Learning

Responsibilities

• Extract data from databases, write scripts to parse, clean, combine, and process them
• Communicate with APIs via REST or SOAP interfaces
• Configure enterprise applications for large customers
• Develop tools to assist in the debugging of existing products
• Work together with a team of experienced developers
