About The Position

KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is a leading travel search engine that helps people find flights, stays, rental cars, and vacation packages. They also offer a corporate travel solution called KAYAK for Business. They are seeking a Java Software Engineer to implement new features and maintain their platform, with a focus on working with data – parsing, analyzing, investigating, interpreting, modeling, and extracting knowledge from large volumes of data. The role involves processing data to drive business decisions or develop new features in a fast-paced environment with diverse projects. This role requires working from the Concord, MA office at least 3 days per week.

Requirements

2 years of experience with Java programming
Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design
Ability to work independently and with a team
Good communication skills for sharing ideas clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues
Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL or Oracle
Familiarity with Unix shell scripting
Familiarity with Spring & Mybatis frameworks
Familiarity with DOM and using XPath, JQuery & CSS
Familiarity with API development using REST, Web Service, SOAP, etc
Familiarity with Machine Learning

Responsibilities

Extract data from databases, write scripts to parse, clean, combine, and process them
Communicate with APIs via REST or SOAP interfaces
Configure enterprise applications for large customers
Develop tools to assist in the debugging of existing products
Work together with a team of experienced developers
