We are looking for a Junior Java Developer to support and enhance applications serving Gas Transmission and Midstream (GTM) Commercial Marketing, Business Development, and Customer Service Operations. Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with 2 or more years of web application development experience.
  • Hands-on development experience with technologies such as Java, web services, CSS, XML/XSLT, HTML, JavaScript, JUnit, and Oracle SQL.
  • Experience developing and implementing web applications using N-tier architecture, along with knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, Spring framework, data structures and algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, source code management, unit testing, and preferably Agile development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator who can explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and demonstrate a strong customer-service mindset when working with business partners.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Broad knowledge of programming languages and techniques such as JSON, ORM, C#, IIS, ASP. Net
  • Experience with DevOps CI/CD and automated test execution experience with tools such as GIT, Azure DevOps, Ansible
  • Experience with IT operations, automation, Cloud computing, and monitoring and logging
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, as well as industry specific regulations, such as NAESB, FERC, SOX, etc.
  • Proficiency using Agile methodology is prefered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, test, debug, and support software solutions for GTM commercial business applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Partner with business users to understand functional and data requirements, assess existing processes, and recommend effective technology solutions.
  • Independently lead the design, development, implementation, and testing of moderately complex software solutions while managing increasingly challenging technical assignments.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and functionality, and drive the resolution of technical issues with guidance from senior team members as required.
  • Collaborate with developers, quality assurance analysts, business partners, and other cross-functional teams to align solution designs, clarify requirements, prevent software defects, and support successful implementation.
  • Serve as a technical resource for new team members by providing guidance on development environments, standards, operational processes, application functionality, and component architecture.
  • Support business and client priorities by ensuring development activities and technology solutions are appropriately aligned with business needs and expected outcomes.
