About The Position

Valley Forge Fabrics is seeking a Junior Interior Design Curation Intern to work onsite in our Ft Lauderdale office, and provide hands‑on support to our Design Curator team. This entry‑level internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate with an interest in interior design, textiles, or hospitality environments who is eager to gain practical, behind‑the‑scenes experience in a professional design setting. This role is primarily supportive in nature and will focus on physical handling of materials and samples, organization and inventory of design resources, and general assistance with day‑to‑day curation tasks. The intern will work closely with experienced Design Curator associates and gain exposure to hospitality design processes and support operations. This is a paid internship position offering $18 per hour.

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate in Interior Design, Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Art, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on interest
  • Ability to comfortably perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work collaboratively with a team

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in hospitality design or commercial interiors
  • Familiarity with fabrics, colors, patterns, or materials
  • Basic comfort with Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing, labeling, transporting, and maintaining fabric samples, boxes, binders, and design materials
  • Help prepare sample kits, boards, and materials for internal use and client presentations
  • Support textile handling tasks including folding, sorting, packing, and staging materials
  • Assist with physical inventory counts of fabric samples and design materials
  • Help maintain orderly sample libraries, storage areas, and workspaces
  • Track basic inventory updates and report discrepancies to Design Curators
  • Lift, carry, push, and move boxes, samples, and materials throughout the office and storage areas
  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing incoming sample shipments
  • Support setup and breakdown of materials for meetings, internal reviews, and projects
  • Work closely with Design Curator associates to support daily tasks as needed
  • Gain exposure to hospitality interior design materials, color concepts, and textile applications
  • Follow safety procedures and handling guidelines for materials and equipment
