About The Position

Peterson Companies, a prominent real estate developer in the Washington, D.C. region, is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Junior Insurance Analyst to join its Corporate Risk Management Department. This role is crucial in supporting the department's administration of the certificate of insurance compliance program and various corporate insurance programs. The position involves gathering underwriting information for coverage placement, generating reports for claims oversight and investigation, performing loss forecasting and analysis, ensuring certificate of insurance compliance, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent progressive experience in risk management or insurance-related field.
Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
Requires a high level of administration (data entry, organization, etc.).
Excellent computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and AI software.
Ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions, if requested.
Ability to provide exemplary customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High levels of integrity, work ethic and dependability.
Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Experience in overseeing complex report management of insurance claims.
Prior experience in Property, Casualty, and/or Specialty Lines of Insurance.
Certification in Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or other insurance industry certification.
Experience with risk/claims management information database software.

Responsibilities

Administer the certificate of insurance compliance program.
Support the administration of various corporate insurance programs.
Collect underwriting information for coverage placement.
Run reports for claims oversight and investigation.
Conduct loss forecasting and analysis.
Ensure certificate of insurance compliance.
Consult with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant data and information for insurance underwriting purposes for annual policy renewals or insurance quotes.
Maintain accurate records of insurance policies, including coverage details, policy limits, and renewal dates.
Assist in coordinating with insurance providers to process policy endorsements, cancellations, and other policy-related transactions and track as needed.
Assist in the completion of renewal applications for various insurance policies.
Assist in the oversight of the certificate tracking third-party administrator and assist in the certificates of insurance compliance process via data gathering, analysis, and issue resolution.
Facilitate the timely reporting of insurance claims and ensure all necessary documentation is collected for the adjusters.
Collaborate with internal teams and external adjusters to expedite the claims to closure or an expedited subrogation.
Track and analyze historical loss data.
Work closely with operational teams to implement risk management best practices and preventive measures.
Coordinate risk assessments for new projects, initiatives, or business processes.
Coordinate risk analysis and loss control services with property managers, insurance carriers, and brokers.
Assist with the management and administration of the company's business continuity and disaster recovery manuals.
Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to insurance and risk management.
Assist VP Risk Management in report monitoring.
Assist the VP of Risk Management on comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management.
Prepare regular risk management reports for departmental and executive review, as required.
Assist in the internal allocation of insurance premiums by maintaining the statement of values spreadsheet.
Maintain tables of property and business interruption values, general liability exposures, fine arts, etc.
Assist in relationships with third-party service providers, including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
Assist in maintaining risk management budget and administration of invoices for approval by the VP of Risk Management.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, travel, or other group activities.
Perform other risk management duties as assigned.
