We have openings for Junior High Science teachers in various locations throughout the East Valley. As a Science Teacher, you will enable students to construct and understand scientific concepts through investigation and analysis, utilizing laboratory equipment, student readings, and interactive technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

  • A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold values and model mature behavior and good character.
  • Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
