About The Position

This position is for a Junior High Teacher at Legacy Traditional Schools. The role involves changing lives through education by helping students develop skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking (for ELA), understanding mathematical concepts (for Math), constructing scientific knowledge through investigation (for Science), or guiding students through history and geography while learning about citizenship (for Social Studies). Teachers will implement instructional activities, identify and modify resources for diverse learners, utilize direct instruction, assess curricular needs, maintain records, communicate effectively with students, parents, and professionals, collaborate with peers, model professional and ethical standards, ensure continuous student growth, participate in training and staff meetings, and meet professional obligations. They will also evaluate student capabilities, celebrate accomplishments, and encourage students to uphold values and model mature behavior. The role involves light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus, and potentially traveling to other campuses. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Pass a criminal history background check.

A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

Responsibilities

Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
Participate in training and staff meetings.
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
Participate in events outside of normal hours.
Other duties as assigned.
