About The Position

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking passionate educators to join their team. This role involves teaching both English Language Arts (ELA) and Physical Education to junior high students. The school emphasizes a positive and powerful energy, aiming to inspire students and educators to achieve their best. The ELA component focuses on developing skilled readers, writers, listeners, and speakers. The Physical Education component aims to develop students' capabilities in muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular strength, and body composition, while also teaching sportsmanship and the importance of staying active. The position requires implementing engaging instructional activities, identifying and adapting resources for diverse learners, utilizing direct instruction, assisting with curriculum assessment, maintaining records, communicating effectively with stakeholders, collaborating with peers, modeling professional conduct, ensuring student growth, participating in training, meeting professional obligations, evaluating student capabilities, and encouraging positive student behavior and character development. The role also involves physical activity such as light lifting, sitting, standing, moving around campus, and potentially traveling to other campuses, as well as participating in events outside of normal hours.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
Pass a criminal history background check.

A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

Responsibilities

Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
Participate in training and staff meetings.
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
Participate in events outside of normal hours.
Other duties as assigned.
