The Junior High Head Swimming Coach is responsible for instructing all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of swimming. The coach will provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring, evaluating, and reinforcing student progress. This role involves developing drill and practice activities, maintaining equipment, enforcing safety rules, and ensuring the welfare of students at all times. The coach must be an effective communicator with players, parents, supervisors, peers, and spectators, and be able to model and demonstrate activities. They will observe, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate remediation activities, and adapt to innovations and changes. The coach must support the philosophies of Campbell County School District and the respective high school activities, and may be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities, which may involve overnight stays.
