About The Position

Due to retirement, Mitchell Public School is seeking an English/Language Arts (ELA) teacher for the middle school levels for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes teaching English/Grammar/Writing skills to grades 7 and 8. This has traditionally been three periods of each grade level, with class sizes kept small (max average size of 17 students). Mitchell Public Schools has a 4 1/2 student week with 12:30 outs on Fridays. Half of these early outs are dedicated to staff development (3:00 out) and half are a 1:00 out for teachers. Mitchell offers a 184-day teacher contract and 177-student contact days. Additional extra curricular offerings include (but are not required): Journalism (Jr./Sr. High book w/High School students in class).

Requirements

  • Teaching license for English/Language Arts.
  • Ability to teach grades 7 and 8.
  • Completion of online application.
