About The Position

The Accessory Junior Designer will work closely with the design and development teams to create industry leading, innovative product designs that appeal to the target demographic. You will support licensed business and private label design in a wide range of accessory product lines.

Requirements

  • Skilled and fast paced Adobe Illustrator generated line art with rapid concepting through hand sketching an added advantage.
  • Comprehension of bag, headwear, home, and other accessory construction and can deliver detailed information to assist in the creation of Tech Packs and Packaging needs.
  • An understanding of current accessory market trends, and a strong desire to innovate.
  • High proficiency in all applications relating to design (Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Pro, Keynote, Power point, Microsoft Office).
  • Design and illustration skills required- Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Ability to design and create artwork for packaging and follow packaging guidelines.
  • The ability to create visual presentations and assist with seasonal creative/design briefs, mood boards and trend reports.
  • Strong market knowledge on industry as it relates to competitors, and lifestyle.
  • Consumer Relevance: The ability to understand and interpret how our customers interact with our products and brand.
  • Fostering Innovation: The ability to develop, support or sponsor the introduction of new and improved methods, products, procedures, or technologies that meet a customer need.

Responsibilities

  • You will be a key contributor in a fast-paced design/development cycle across a wide range of product categories.
  • Ability to design a wide range of products across multiple categories and genres, develop an understanding of tech packs and item construction.
  • Hit all design deadlines that are assigned to you.
  • Create professional-level presentations of current market trend and concepts from initial concepts to finished goods
  • Anticipate consumer trends and hit all design deadlines assigned to you.
  • Know the market: continuously study the competitive set and key client retailers (in-store and online). Document and keep detailed research on current customers and competitors.
  • Review and comment on all product samples with vendors, updating specs and instructions as needed to meet final product expectations.
  • You will be responsible for creating non-licensed graphic development.
