About The Position

The Junior Full Stack Engineer develops and maintains full-stack applications that support the mission of a leading university and improve the experience of students, faculty, and staff. The role works across the software development lifecycle, including web applications, databases, APIs, and user-facing solutions. The engineer partners with stakeholders to address business challenges, improve processes, and deliver scalable, secure, high-performing applications while developing technical expertise in front-end and back-end technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Knowledge of the standard software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Knowledge of risk management and mitigation techniques.
• Skill in front-end development using tools such as React, TypeScript, Jest/Enzyme, GatsbyJS, GraphQL, Bootstrap, and Styled Components.
• Skill with SQL Server or MySQL databases and Java, PHP, SQL, and jQuery.
• Ability to apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Ability to analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain web applications, mobile applications, and databases.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized programs.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions using principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with internal customers.
• Collaborate with customers to gather and clarify requirements, deploy programs, and evaluate user feedback.
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Track assigned project progress to ensure quality deliverables are completed according to schedule.
• Document and demonstrate solutions using flowcharts, charts, diagrams, documents, layouts, and code comments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
