About The Position

CAE is looking for a talented individual to join its Corporate Finance and M&A team. This role involves developing and analyzing financial models for project impacts and M&A target valuation, analyzing factors influencing commercial and financial decisions, participating in due diligence, reviewing projects for local issues and risks, reviewing contract clauses to minimize risk, collaborating with international stakeholders on global deals, and presenting financial analysis to leadership including the CFO. Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in corporate finance and/or M&A.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product and digital development lifecycles, including financial analyses to evaluate cost and margin advantages.
  • Skilled in financial modeling and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience in capital budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and evaluating financial impacts to improve project costs and margins.
  • Bilingualism in both French and English.

  • Knowledgeable in hardware and software processes and their practical applications.
  • Experience within the aerospace high-technology sector.
  • CPA, CFA, and other relevant designations (complete or in progress).
  • Able to work effectively with business development, finance, engineering, product, and technology teams.
  • Effective communication skills as well as a team-oriented mindset are crucial qualities when interacting with upper management, colleagues, customers, and financial institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze financial models for calculating financial impacts of projects and valuation of targets in M&A processes.
  • Analyze factors influencing commercial and financial decisions to contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in and coordinate due diligence activities to support customer needs and M&A transactions.
  • Ensure thorough project reviews, keeping the team informed of local issues, risks, and legal considerations.
  • Review contract clauses within commercial and financial documents to minimize risks and align with customer requirements.
  • Engage with international stakeholders on a variety of deals across business units.
  • Work with Business Development departments and present directly to the CFO and other leadership members.
