About The Position

ACCIONA is a global company focused on developing regenerative infrastructure that positively impacts society. The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a significant infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. This project, commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), will add two 16-mile express lanes in Georgia, enhancing mobility along a busy corridor. The project involves a peak workforce of over 500, dedicated bus rapid transit stations, and bridge refurbishments. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2025, with completion anticipated in 2031. The Field Engineer will support construction operations, coordinate field activities, and contribute to the overall success of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline required.
  • Minimum 1+ year of field engineering or construction experience in heavy civil or DOT projects.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to access active work zones safely.
  • Familiarity with GDOT Standard Specifications, AASHTO guidelines, and traffic control standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction documents, layout, and field reporting tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and scheduling software (Primavera P6 is a plus).
  • Experience with document management platforms (Procore, CMiC, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily meetings with field crews to confirm schedule alignment, material deliveries, and equipment availability.
  • Assist in field layout planning, utility marking coordination, and permit tracking before work zone mobilization.
  • Analyze shop drawings, submitttsals, specifications, and contracts; identify conflicts between field conditions and design.
  • Record daily production quantities and costs using SR400’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Evaluate progress and alert supervisors to delays; contribute to weekly 3-week lookahead updates and schedule adjustments.
  • Document daily activities, including timecards, production tracking, RFIs, and field memos using Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS.
  • Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety inspections, and compliance with environmental standards.
  • Assist in preparing reports, inspection requests, and quality control checklists; participate in inspections.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on work sequencing, logistics, and safety plan compliance.
  • Aid in project closeout by reconciling quantities, completing punch lists, and compiling documentation.
