About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Junior Exploitation Specialist/Photogrammetrist to provide photogrammetry support to a customer. Under the direction of a senior-level photogrammetric lead, this role helps produce multi-source remote reconnaissance packages for geodetic survey missions. The work uses LiDAR processing and analysis, point cloud generation from Electro-Optical (EO) imagery, and co-registration of multi-source datasets.

  • High school diploma and 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of photogrammetry, LiDAR processing and analysis, and EO point cloud generation.
  • 1–3 years of experience processing and analyzing LiDAR data or EO point clouds, and documenting precision and error according to existing data standards.
  • Basic experience co-registering multiple datasets to the WGS 84 reference frame and performing statistical analysis to determine absolute and relative error.
  • Basic experience with QT Modeler, Socet Set, or similar elevation/point cloud processing and analysis software.
  • Basic experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
  • Knowledge of digital data formats such as vector data, raster data, and shapefiles.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • STEM degree.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies, and their applications and implications in geospatial and intelligence domains.
  • Geodetic or land surveying experience or coursework.
  • Knowledge of geodetic or statistical principles.
  • Knowledge of standard customer products.
  • Familiarity with customer systems architecture, including unclassified cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing multi-source remote reconnaissance packages for planned and ad hoc geodetic survey missions, using existing data and services to meet yearly requirements.
  • Build packages according to applicable SOPs and standards designated by the senior-level photogrammetric lead, requesting guidance as needed.
  • Complete packages at least two weeks before deployment, unless the mission is first announced within that period.
  • Coordinate with the customer’s Requirements Manager, Mission Managers, and Team Leads to ensure packages are accessible and answer questions about their content or use.
  • Gather post-deployment feedback on package usability from the Geodetic Surveys Requirements Manager, Mission Manager, Tech Team, and Team Leads, and work with the senior lead to refine the process.
  • Provide input to senior-level revisions of SOPs, geodetic standards, and other package-generation documentation.
  • Keep the Requirements Manager, Mission Managers, and senior photogrammetric lead informed of status and completions.
  • Identify potential data sources and methods to optimize package generation.
  • Help identify data accessibility issues affecting geographically separated branches and field teams.
