About The Position

BAE Systems is looking for a Junior Engineering Technician to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting an acquisition program for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications System. The successful candidate will provide technical engineering program and project management support for the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Program. This program is designed to sustain and extend SACCS life and transition into the follow-on system, known as Sentinel ICBM System (formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD)). Our team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for future systems updates. Duties will include but not be limited to performing complex data collection and preparation necessary to support engineering studies and reports, supporting prototype and modification development and installation for network circuits and infrastructure, assisting in troubleshooting DISA network outages, signal degradation, and network connectivity issues, maintaining and updating documentation of circuit layouts, diagrams, and technical specifications, coordinating directly with telecommunications providers and vendors for circuit provisioning and testing, interfacing between project stakeholders (internal and external), and reporting project status as requested by the government customer. Potential candidates will validate the abilities to accomplish the following activities while demonstrating strong leadership attributes of a team of subject matter experts accomplishing the same: demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety, and security, attend internal and external meetings as required to cover both business items and customer requirements, review and approve all correspondence delivered to customer as a deliverable item, follow all required processes especially the peer review process to ensure quality of products being delivered, be accountable to the Program Manager for tasks/assignments, serve as a focal point for individual tasks/projects, directly support government leadership and maintain strong customer relationships, and maintain other duties as assigned. Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is located at Hill AFB, Utah. The position requires 3-6 TDYs a year.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (no degree required) with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related telecommunications, network engineering, or IT field.
  • Proven experience executing complex data collection and preparation necessary to support engineering studies and reports.
  • Experience in the support of prototype and modification of network hardware devices
  • Familiarity with circuit testing, provisioning, and infrastructure hardware (routers, switches, multiplexers, fiber optics).
  • Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills.
  • Required to maintain a US Department of War (DoW) Secret Security Clearance for the position.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills specifically: setting expectations, managing work, and leading individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrate self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Due to its special-access, classified working environment, this position is only located at Hill AFB, UT and is not conducive to telework schedules.
  • US Citizenship status.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry-standard networking or telecommunications certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Security + or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with DoW telecommunications infrastructure and circuit management databases (e.g., DISA tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring blueprints.
