About The Position

CACI is hiring an Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Ocean Engineer to support engineering and planning efforts for Submarine Rescue and Undersea Mobility platforms at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. The work supports U.S. Navy submarine, submersible, and deep-submergence projects. The position requires a Secret clearance and may involve travel of up to 10% within the continental United States.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Ocean Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university; other degree disciplines may be considered.
• Professional engineering experience performing complex calculations, such as heat transfer, fluid flow, piping stress, or mechanical stress.
• Experience with configuration management and document control.
• Ability to manage work in a time-sensitive operational environment.
• Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with U.S. Navy deep-submergence assets and support systems.
• Familiarity with Scope of Certification (P9290/Man-010) requirements.
• Electrical power background (NSTM 300).
• Familiarity with Military Specifications, ANSI, and ASME standards.
• Related submarine or submersible experience in design, maintenance, operations, repair, and/or testing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Develop modernization plans and changes for U.S. Navy deep-submergence assets and support systems.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and/or structural analysis.
• Evaluate components, materials, and systems to ensure integration, compatibility, and stability.
• Travel as required.
