About The Position

CACI has an immediate opening for an Electrical / Mechanical / Systems / Ocean Engineer to support engineering and planning efforts for Submarine Rescue and Undersea Mobility platforms at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine. This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Requirements

  • Electrical / Mechanical / Systems / Ocean engineering degree from an ABET Accredited College/University (other degree disciplines may be considered)
  • Professional engineering experience performing complex engineering calculations such as heat transfer, fluid flow, piping stress, mechanical stress etc.
  • Experience with configuration management and document control
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work in a time-sensitive operational environment
  • Ability to achieve excellence working individually or as part of a team
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience specifically with US Navy Deep Submergence Assets and Support Systems
  • Familiarity with Scope of Certification (P9290/Man-010) requirements
  • Electrical power background (NSTM 300)
  • Familiarity with Military Specifications, ANSI and ASME standards
  • Related submarine / submersible experience with design, maintenance, operations, repair and/or testing
  • Experience with MS Office suite of products

Responsibilities

  • Develop modernization plans/changes for the US Navy Deep Submergence Assets and Support Systems
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and/or structural analysis
  • Evaluate components and materials and systems to ensure system integration, compatibility and stability
  • Some travel will be required
  • Work will be in support of US Navy Submarines, Submersibles or Deep Submergence projects
