A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona’s first fab will operate it’s leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. The Junior Electrical Technician supports senior electrical technicians in the installation of electrical systems in an industrial or high-tech construction environment. This entry-level role focuses on learning basic trade skills, assisting with layout and installation, and observing safe electrical work practices.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of electrical or construction experience
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and tool handling ability
  • Must pass project-specific safety orientation and electrical hazard awareness
  • Ability to learn from drawings and observe layout marks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work habits
  • Capable of lifting materials, working on ladders/lifts, and standing for long periods of time
  • TSMC Arizona operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires candidate to have ability and willingness to work any shift (day or night) in a compressed work week schedule once training is done. The compressed work week shift structure is Work 4 days on, 3 days off for one week and 3 days on, 4 days off the next week. Shift is 12 hour shifts from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.

Responsibilities

  • Material Handling & Setup:
  • Stage conduit, cable trays, wire spools, fittings, and electrical enclosures
  • Assist in organizing and labeling materials for installation by system
  • Pull wire and prep terminations under direction of senior electricians
  • Support layout of conduit and boxes using drawings and field measurements
  • Install Support:
  • Assist with installing conduit (EMT, PVC, rigid) using hand and power tools
  • Participate in mounting and securing junction boxes, panels, and devices
  • Support rough-in activities during initial system buildout
  • Learn basic termination techniques and torque procedures (with supervision)
  • Safety & Clean Work Practices:
  • Follow electrical safety rules including lockout/tagout, PPE, and energized work restrictions
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, keeping tools and materials secure
  • Observe experienced electricians to learn safe and efficient techniques
