About The Position

The Role Join our Specialist led Emergency and Critical Care department at Southpaws Malvern. We are on the look out for our next ECC Vet superstar to work with our growing team that consists of Criticalist (DACVECC) , Senior MANZCVS-ECC clinicians and senior and dedicated ECC and ICU nurses. We are offering around the clock care for any and all emergencies, day or night, big or small we are here to help 24/7. This role will work a rotating roster of days, nights, swings and weekends providing you with not only case load variety but a rostering pattern that supports your work life balance because we all have a life outside the 4 hospital walls. The Detail: Full time role working across days, nights and weekends at our Malvern hospital Average of 6 shifts in a fortnight each 12.5 hours long 1 week of Study leave each year to support continued education and professional development Monthly department meetings to discuss all things ECC as well weekly presentation mornings (with coffee) to foster peer to peer learning on a variety of topics and areas Inter-department collaboration with our specialist lead surgery and anaesthesia departments We are not aiming for good we want to be great and to be the first choice for expert veterinary care. In order to do that we need push the boundaries and try new things. Creating a workplace that operates the way we believe it should, rather than the way it always has been.

Requirements

  • You hold a DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and are eligible for registration with the Victorian Veterinary Board.
  • You have at least 2+ years’ experience working in an Emergency or ICU hospital/department, or 2+ years in General Practice with exposure to on-call or after-hours work.
  • You’re comfortable working a rotating roster that includes days, nights, evenings, and weekends.
  • You bring a willingness to learn, a can-do attitude, and a professional, positive approach to your work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EzyVet and SmartFlow is an advantage, but not essential.
